Now MBA in Hindi for Nagpur: First Time in India

This is what an MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Hindi medium would be recognized as. And students, particularly management hopeful, facing complexity in reading and learning English will soon be able to follow this course at the Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGIMU), besides a veer of other courses in Hindi medium.

For maybe the first time in India, the Wardha-based University, the only centrally-controlled and finance institution in Maharashtra besides the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), would also launch Master of Arts (MA) in subjects like conversion technology, drama and folk music, Indian culture, tourism and tribal studies.

“MGIMU strives to set up new courses that will benefit students, and the MBA course is a part of that plan. We believe that language shouldn’t be a barrier while learning. Since Hindi is our national language, and ours is an international Hindi university, we should be first one to do introduce such a course. We have already established permission for the course from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Initially, we’ll admit 20 students in the MBA course and gradually increase the capacity,” vice chancellor G Gopinathan told ToI.

He added that the MBA would be offered in fields like finance and tourism to start with. Everything from the course brochure to the course contents would be in Hindi. When asked about how syllabus and content would be framed for the management course, Gopinathan retort that they will first translate the books written by English authors and the faculty would impart coaching in Hindi.

“The sense would be lecturers of national and international repute. We also plan to ask visiting faculty from famous institutions across the country,” the vice chancellor informed. Public relation officer of MGIMU said they would be publishing advertisements for admissions to MBA and other new courses after March 31.

MGIMU conducts MA courses in subjects like language technology, translation technology, women’s studies, Ahimsa and peace education, gathering media communication among others. The university presently accommodates 250 students, and with the introduction of new courses, this strength would soon go up significantly.
