A Bachelors of Science enables direct involvement to solving technical problems, but offers little in understanding the language, rules, and skills needed to effectively manage a business. An MBA empowers an individual with a science degree in the language and practice of business including the basics of finance, accounting, marketing, operations, and human resources. These skills are particularly useful when a person takes on managerial responsibilities that incorporate multiple functions that reach beyond science into management.
